Senior Project Manager
Objective
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the overall day to day project management of construction. The Project Manager ensures that all construction projects are executed and monitored in compliance with project scope, schedules, and budgets in addition to ensuring all operations are carried out in accordance with Acara’s policies and procedures that govern HSE and quality requirements. They will also be tasked to continuously review and improve operational activities to achieve optimal efficiency.
What You’ll Do
• Reviewing specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and planning and developing project schedules and budgets
• Provides day to day management, leadership, and expertise of up to 45 projects ranging from $10,000 to $1,000,000+
• Ensures project timelines are met in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner
• For each project, purchase required material, conduct scheduled meetings with site superintendent to ensure the project schedule and goals are on track, resolve issues and provide solutions, maintain site safety, and ensure quality
• Perform site visits
• Maintain regular communication throughout project with subtrades, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure contracts are being fulfilled in an efficient and effective manner
• Handle all documentation required such as RFI’s, submittals, change orders, punch lists and close-out documents
• Hold project close out meetings to gather successes and challenges for continuous improvement
• Oversee the large project department and work closely with the leadership team to ensure processes and procedures are effective, efficient, and safe; make recommendations and changes where applicable.
• Promote a team environment between departments to maintain consistent communication and ensure resources such as people, equipment, and tools are properly allocated to achieve maximum utilization and efficiency
• As part of the Management Team, participates in Management meetings, provides expertise into company decisions to ensure goals are met, provides leadership to staff, including coaching, performance management and development, as well as promotes the company in a positive manner
What You’ll Need to be Successful
Education and Experience
• Minimum 5 years glazing experience
• 5-7 years experience in a Project Manager role or similar
• PMP Designation and/or a Journeyman Glazier would be a strong asset
• Experience in residential/commercial construction, can read and interpret blue prints, specifications, architectural drawings, shop drawings, etc.
• Experience in project management and directing workflow
• Proven track record of overseeing processes and procedures and implementing improvements where applicable
