Aluminum Window Fabricator

Acara Glass & Aluminum is proud to have been in business for over 30 years. We are a full-service glass and aluminum company specializing in sales, service, and installations in the Saskatoon area. We are looking for the right individuals interested in joining our team to create and install high-quality glass and aluminum products for our valued customers.

The Fabricator position is a key role in the project delivery process. Safety, organization, attention to detail, and quality of workmanship, while maintaining schedules, are paramount for success in this position.

Duties & Responsibilities

Fabrication:

  • Saw cutting aluminum, steel, and various other materials required for fabrication

  • Layout, assemble, caulk, and carry aluminum curtainwall, storefronts, windows, doors, etc.

  • Measure, cut, and drill aluminum extrusions

  • Operate machines and tools as needed: saws, metal-break, drills, etc.

  • Inspect aluminum for various quality flaws

  • Assist with loading and offloading stock and finished structures off of trucks/trailers

  • Deliver products to job sites as needed

  • Assist and support project management to ensure continuity between tender, construction, and project completion

  • Assist with the installation of curtain walls, storefronts, and glass on-site as required

Shop and yard management:

  • Monitor, organize, and maintain good housekeeping for all shop and yard operations

  • Oversee all shipments, incoming inventory, and storage of material and supplies

  • Report and track inventory

  • Develop strategies to increase productivity and production

  • Coordinate equipment maintenance and repairs to ensure an efficient and safe working environment

Required Skills/Experience

  • Ideal candidate will have fabrication experience with a minimum of 3 years in a supervisor role.

  • Reading and understanding of shop drawings and blueprints

  • Strong team-building, decision-making, and people management skills

  • Experience operating a forklift, preferably with certification

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $22.00-$27.00 per hour
